A world of discovery for 2008/9

Award-winning, niche cruise operator Voyages of Discovery this week launches its World of Discovery 2008/9 world preview brochure, featuring a wide range of exciting destinations that are rarely found in other cruise programmes.

New destinations for 2008 include South Africa and the Indian Ocean, visiting five ports from Cape Town as well as Madagascar, Mozambique, Mumbai and Goa. A new selection of magnificent Grand Voyages – combinations of individual cruises that offer excellent value for money – are also a key feature of the brochure.

Says David Yellow, Managing Director of Voyages of Discovery: “Our unique, destination-led world programme once again blends the unusual with the exotic. This year, we are very pleased to introduce voyages to South Africa and the Indian Ocean - we’ll visit no fewer than five ports from Cape Town, plus colonial outposts in Mozambique, dense forests in Madagascar and brilliant white sands around the Indian Ocean, as well as Goa and Mumbai on the Indian mainland.”

“Old favourites, such as Antarctica, South America and the Red Sea feature and there’ll be an epic 107-day Grand Voyage of Discovery, from Ushuaia to London via Antarctica, the Falklands, South Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Red and Black Seas and the Med, all from just A$27,250pp* and including free air from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane” he adds.

Prices for the 19-day Antarctica & Chilean Fjords cruise start from just A$6,795pp*. A 21-day Cape to Cape itinerary from Antarctica to Cape Town costs from $5,395 pp* and departs 8 February 2009.

Voyages of Discovery’s shorter Grand Voyages include a spectacular Grand Antarctica to Istanbul, departing 08 February 2009, from $21,650pp* and an exhilarating 60-day Grand Voyage from India, departing 28 March 2009, from $14,995 pp* and including free air from Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne for a limited time.

A wide range of optional holiday extensions are available pre- and post-cruise, including a three or four night stay at Iguassu Falls from $1,850 pp; a three-night stay in Cape Town from $995 pp; a mid-cruise, two-night option to Agra and Taj Mahal on some grand voyages, from $1,199 pp, and a five-night trip to Patagonia’s Glaciers from $1,599 pp.

Voyages of Discovery is offering early booking savings of up to 30% on 2008/9 world cruises, for bookings made at least 90 days before departure.  Savings are also available for customers wishing to combine two or more cruises, and a strictly limited number of cabins (category I and G) on all world voyages have no sole occupancy supplement.
