07 February 2007 - Cruise specialist launches 2007/8 brochure

Discovery Cruises has launched its World of Discovery 2007/8 brochure, offering ocean voyages to destinations that are rarely found in other cruise programmes.

The 2007/8 world programme will start earlier than ever – with the first cruise departing for Brazil in November. New for 2007/8, the Discovery will once again return to the Falklands and South Georgia, combining these destinations with the White Continent, and offering an expanded programme to Antarctica with a total of seven itineraries.

David Yellow, managing director of Discovery Cruises, said: “This season, we will again be bringing faraway places closer, blending the unusual with the exotic. In response to popular demand, we are starting our Antarctic cruises earlier, and are pleased to be offering itineraries to South Georgia and the Falklands once more. “We have also added an extra two departure dates on our ever popular 14-night Antarctica cruise, designed specifically for travellers who lack the luxury of time,” he added.

Prices for the 18-night Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia voyage, departing 27 November 2007, start at $7,195pp*. Prices to the White Continent lead in at $5,495 pp* for the 14-night Antarctica voyages, departing 13th December 2007 and 5th and 29th January 2008.

The Discovery will once again return to the Amazon basin, where new destinations include Parintins, an island town known for its vibrant folklore festival. The 12-night Amazon and Caribbean voyage costs $2,995pp* and departs 14 April 2008.

There will be a third season of cruises in the Galapagos, combining the islands with destinations such as Santiago, Machu Picchu, Quito, Costa Rica, Jamaica and the Amazon. Prices start at $5,150pp* for the 15-night Galapagos, Panama Canal and Cuba itinerary, departing on 15 March 2008.

Discovery’s Grand Voyages offer excellent value for money for those who have the time, and include the 94-night Grand Voyage of Discovery from $24,395pp*, departing 8 February 2008; the 50-night Grand Voyage from Africa to Antarctica from $13,995*pp, departing 26 October 2007 and the 80-night Grand Voyage from South America from $21,995pp*, departing 22 February 2008. These three Grand Voyages include free flights from Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

*All prices are based on two sharing and include early booking savings of up to 33%, pre and/or post-cruise city stays (depending on the itinerary), overseas transfers, all onboard meals, lectures and gratuities. Combination savings are offered when you combine two or more cruises and there is no sole occupancy supplement on a strictly limited number of cabins (category I and G) on all cruises.
