Destination cruise specialist Discovery Cruises is celebrating the launch of its dynamic new website for the Australian markets.

The new look site marks the beginning of an exciting era for the company’s online strategy, which will launch with a major email campaign throughout autumn to over one million people. There will be new features, offers and opportunities on a regular basis, creating a true online community which will encourage visitors to return.

The site will also reflect the diversity of the destinations visited by the MV Discovery and offer passengers the ability to send postcards home from their cruises and access special features.

Later in the year, Discovery Cruises' key travel agent partners will be offered their own private label website. This will give these agents a personalised website with marketing tools that will allow them to customise and broadcast e-marketing campaigns, full online booking ability and regular training opportunities.

Group managing director David Yellow said we wanted to have a website that truly reflected the destination-led cruises that we offer.

“Websites can often be static and lifeless and as our ship is rarely in the same place for long, and constantly offers exciting new experiences, we believe that our website should do the same,” he said.

Further developments will be introduced throughout 2006/7.
